The UK-based association ShareAction which works for sustainable investment ranked Candriam 8th on the list of the best companies for transparency and sustainable investment practices in Europe, according to a survey carried out on 40 European management companies with combined AuM of 21,000 bn euros.
These management companies were assessed on their transparency, which included the access provided to information on their voting policy and their level of engagement to companies in which they invest, as well as their policies on conflicts of interest and the publication of expenses.
A questionnaire sent to all these companies also gave them the chance to comment on the extent to which their investment process integrates ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria. 78% of them submitted replies. The survey also included questions on the impact on these companies investment decisions on phenomena such as the carbon footprint.
This ranking confirms Candriam’s commitment to pursuing its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
